Elegantly Curved Cabinet

Designed, engineered and Crafted in Canada, this heavy duty, non-resonant cabinet is an intricate system of rigid enclosures, braced and damped to defeat vibrations and internal standing waves. Offered in a variety of beautiful finishes, its presence makes a forceful statement, but its performance remains utterly transparent.

Seven Layer HDF Construction

Construction of the beautifully curved and completely inert enclosures begins with seven layers of HDF wood composite material and Viscoelastic adhesive placed in a custom press. The enclosures are treated with radio-frequency (RF) energy to accelerate the curing process, which takes almost a week to complete. The result is a strong, constrained layered damped enclosure that’s the perfect acoustical foundation from which to build upon.

Patented† Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA™) Driver Lenses

This patented PPA technology for our Beryllium tweeter and mid-range drivers blocks out-of-phase frequencies which increases and smooths output without coloring the sound, while also protecting the crown jewels of the Persona series, the expensive Beryllium drivers, from getting damaged.

Active Ridge Technology (ART™) Surrounds

Paradigm’s patented† Active Ridge Technology (ART™) surrounds, made in-house and overmolded directly onto each cone, achieve greater excursion for a 3dB gain in distortion-free output (50% greater) compared to drivers with standard surrounds. Crafted from audiophile-grade injection-molded thermoplastic elastomer, ART surrounds are more durable and reliable, for a lifetime of superior sound.

Ultra-High-Excursion Differential Drive Woofers

The Persona 9H & 7F use Differential Drive motors in the woofers, which have increased power handling, improved mechanical stability, and reduced magnetic flux modulation distortion. This exclusive design utilizes dual voice coils and 3 powerful magnets to achieve exponential levels of output with vanishingly low distortion.

X-PAL™ Woofer Drivers

X-PAL pure-aluminum cones blend lightweight stiffness with high consistency for a greater degree of accuracy and smooth, uncolored frequency response. Combined with ART surrounds, these woofers produce truly huge bass with no threat of flexing or distortion.

Advanced Dual Voice Coil Systems

The Persona 9H Hybrid features dual voice coil systems with high-temp wire (tolerances to 600°F) wound on resilient Kapton formers, supported by high-excursion Nomex spiders. This 1.5-inch motor design packs the effects of a super-extended throw into a compact enclosure. In addition, the die-cast woofer baskets feature integrated heat sinks and AVS™ Airflow Ventilation System Cooling, for higher power handling with less power compression.

Dual 700W Ultra-Class D Amplifiers

Persona 9H features two powerful onboard amplifiers deliver an astonishing 1400W RMS of clean, continuous power even at lifelike performance levels. Adaptive PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) optimizes amplifier efficiency and smooths supply variations, for instantaneous reactions and reference-quality performance with bulletproof reliability. In addition, Anthem Room Correction (ARC) Technology in the pre-amp section corrects for the effects of reflective surfaces in any room.

The powered woofer section of the Persona 9H Hybrid includes our exclusive Anthem Room Correction (ARC) Technology. ARC measures low-frequency sound output in your room and compares it to optimal response curves that account for spatial anomalies. The advanced algorithms of ARC then effectively remove the anomalies, leaving only the ideal standard: realistically blended, natural-sounding bass performance, in any listening space.

Truextent® Beryllium High Resolution Tweeter

The stuff tweeter dreams are made of, Beryllium reveals pristine high frequency clarity and pinpoint transient details while remaining perfectly transparent; you hear what you’re listening to, not the speaker. No other loudspeaker in this price class uses a Beryllium tweeter.

Driver Materials

99.9% Pure Beryllium

One of the keys to Persona’s luxury and value is our use of Beryllium, the absolute best diaphragm material, typically found only in speakers costing considerably more. Persona uses Truextent® Pure Beryllium that is specially formulated to be exponentially stiffer and significantly lighter than other premium diaphragm materials. It enables superior transient response and virtual transparency, with vanishingly low audible coloration.

Beryllium is a rare chemical element (Be) with low mass, high tensile strength and high thermal stability.

It is incredibly rigid and lightweight; everything an audio engineer desires in a speaker cone. In fact, Beryllium has been used in the audio industry since the 1970s. Because of its use in only the finest (and most expensive) audio equipment, it has retained a certain “cult” status.

Precise control of the manufacturing process produces Beryllium with a highly uniform grain structure. This material is many times more rigid and less dense than more common cone materials. In industry testing, our Beryllium cone material exhibits substantial improvements in durability, speed, and reduced interference. It can add more than an octave of distortion-free output.

Tandem Beryllium drivers reveal the full range of high performance.

Paradigm’s Persona is the only loudspeaker in its class to achieve this level of performance using Beryllium material for both midrange and tweeter drivers. Six 8-inch woofers, featuring durable overmolded surrounds, are radially aligned in Paradigm’s signature hexagonal Vibration- Canceling Design Architecture enclosure. Powered by a 1700W Ultra-Class-D amplifier (capable of 3400W dynamic peaks), and an array of Paradigm bass enhancements like advanced DSP, efficient venting and superior power supply switching, this sub adds depth, clarity and bass precision to your Persona audio system.
