ALPINE
Alpine KTX-NS01
Navigation and much more for your Alpine
With Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ leading the way for most touchscreen radios these days, it makes sense that built-in navigation isn't as an attractive feature for many drivers. But if you happen to drive through rural dead zones or go off-roading often, you know that trouble can strike when it's most unexpected. Alpine's KTX-NS01 GPS navigation module offers a practical solution to slow or nonexistent directions with reliable GPS mapping no matter where you travel, plus handy off-road features for those who like to explore off the grid.
Plugs right in
Add-on navigation modules for aftermarket radios used to be big, bulky affairs — often large enough to hold a data DVD. The KTX-NS01 measures just over three inches long and one inch wide, making it smaller than pocket-size. It connects to your compatible Alpine radio (see the list below) via its rear USB port with an included cable. An LED light on the module indicates on/off status, and can let you know if an update is available or in progress.
GPS convenience
The KTX-NS01 uses your Alpine radio's radio antenna and a built-in GPS receiver to pick up signals, so it's not dependent on phone service or Wi-Fi®. It comes with HERE maps of the U.S. and Canada and iGo Primo Nextgen navigation software, so you can roam the continent (plus Hawaii) to your heart's content. When you connect the module to your compatible Alpine radio, you'll see a navigation app on the touchscreen, offering access to the mapping and off-road features. You'll enjoy turn-by-turn directions with voice prompts, searchable points of interest, traffic information, street signs, speed limits, and more. You can even pinch-to-zoom the map screen on your Alpine radio for an even closer look at the maps.
Off-Road Mode
The KTX-NS01's Off-Road Mode provides vehicle data (tire pressure, battery voltage, GPS coordinates), tracking of trail distance/time, and compass readings. The off-road navigation database includes points of interest for vehicular recreational areas, FunTreks trailheads, and U S. campsites. You can also revisit trails through Off-Road Mode trip recording.
