The 1157 style is a dual output that can be used as a reverse bulb, turn signal/marker light, or brake light/marker light.  It is designed to have a lower output from the typically constantly used mode (ex: tail lights when you are not using your brakes and headlights are on) and a high output mode when the second output is engaged (turn signal, brakes applied).  We offer this bulb as a switchback style for use on the front of vehicles where you would like to have the marker light illuminate in white rather than traditional amber.  When the turn signal is engaged on a switchback, the color changes to traditional amber.
